do elephants drool?

given the copious amounts of drool that end up all over rohan, his clothes, my glasses, his toys, etc. it is no wonder that he isn't a huge baby. How could any person gain weight when they loose 10 lbs a day in drool?

I have no idea if he is actually teething, but I think he might be. Does the drool lessen the pain of new teeth? Is the drool in anticipation of solid foods? Or is the drool just Rohan's way of sharing his joy with us?

Aside from dogs, i have not come across too many animals that leave puddles of drool all over themselves and others. Maybe you just can't see it....
